This time we visited an amazing Ex Ospedale / Sanatorium in the North of Italy. In 1911 tuberculosis was a widespread disease, And there was a need for a large sanatorium in the area. the First World War slowed down the construction and the Sanatorium was finished in 1924. the building is extremely large : 33.000m2 with a total of over 1800 beds. in 1955 the place was no longer needed for tuberculosis and made into a general hospital. When a newer hospital nearby was opened in 2015. this place was left completely abandoned..
